PETITION TO IMPROVE ALBERTA'S FISHERIES

To the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in Legislature Assembled
We, the undersigned residents of Alberta, petition the Legislative Assembly to urge the Government of Alberta to:

1. Significantly increase minimum fines for both the act of illegal retention and each fish retained illegally per each infraction. So judges cannot lower fines to a point where they are inconsequential and ineffective.

2. Implement a minimum two-year loss of angling privileges (loss of angling license) for any illegal retention of fish. This is to co-exist along with the significant increase in minimum fines discussed in the first item stated above. So judges cannot lower the period of loss of privilege to the point where it has no repercussions or consequence.

3. Implement a (Brown and Rainbow) trout enhancement project/program for the Red Deer River directly below the Dickson Dam; and

4. Use revenue received from fines related to the Red Deer River to run and maintain the Red Deer River enhancement project.
